About

Clean, mobile-first interfaces, with small moments of motion.

I’m Nur Ilyas, a frontend engineer in Singapore. I like the details most people only notice when they’re missing: the press of a button, the way one page hands off to the next.

How I got here

01Side project

It started with Android.

Long before it was a job, I was building Android apps on the side, first in Java and later in Kotlin. I published my first app while still in school, and got hooked on seeing something I made run in my hand.

02Curiosity

Then the web pulled me in.

Exploring web apps opened up a much bigger canvas. It took me to Shopee’s React Native platform and then TikTok Shop, where the mobile experience was everything.

03Now

Details that make it feel right.

Today I build frontends at BlackRock. Wherever I am, I’m drawn to the same things: mobile-friendly layouts, clean design, and small interactive moments — a press, a transition, a bit of motion — that make an interface feel considered.

Things I like making

Go on, try them.
01Morphing buttonCollapses into a loader, then opens out to a tick that draws itself in.
On
02Flat toggleAn even ease and a colour change. The knob widens slightly while held.
03Menu morphThe middle line folds away while the outer two cross into a close icon.
